The Judges

For 20 years – from 1989-2009, Fiona ran the kitchen in what became an iconic restaurant in Launceston, Tasmania – Fee and Me Restaurant, with her partner Peter Crowe. During those 20 years the restaurant scooped up many awards with the pinnacle of success coming in 2000 when it was named "Best Restaurant in Australia" in the American Express Awards. The National Award was an enormous personal achievement for Fiona and testament to her dedication to the industry.
Since closing the restaurant, Fiona’s cooking career has taken a new path and seen her embrace the world’s smallest, smartest kitchen - the Thermomix. The German designed Thermomix is making a name for itself with chefs around the world as well as in domestic kitchens. It cooks, chops, steams, whisks, crushes, mills, pulverizes, blends, stirs, weighs, times and grates amongst other functions, so it replaces most other kitchen gadgets.
Building a team of Consultants to help her show Thermomix to customers in Tasmania, Fiona hopes to encourage people to get back to basics with their cooking. With a Thermomix in the kitchen people are able to make their own bread, butter, stock, jams, juices, sorbets, soups, salads, dressings, meals, cakes, biscuits etc. in minutes or sometimes even seconds.
Fiona is passionate about many things – Tasmanian produce, eating well, caring for the environment and making a difference are amongst those passions. It is her passion that has seen her run the London marathon (twice!), organise dinners featuring high profile chefs and embark on writing a cookbook to raise funds to help save the Tasmanian Devil in its hour of need. (“A Devil of a Cookbook” to be released in April 2012.) Her passion for quality has seen her excel in both her restaurant and Thermomix careers.
